Licence Warning

Martin Lewis, the Money Expert, has just brought to every Tenants attention that they should check if their Rented Property has an appropriate Licence. If not, he then encourages Tenants to obtain a Rent Repayment Order to claim back any previously paid rent up to a period of 12 months whilst the Licence is not in place.

So please Landlords, make sure that your Property, if in a Licensable area, must have its Licence urgently applied for, if not already obtained.

Also, if a Licence is needed, a Landlord and Agent could suffer fines up to £30,000.00 and it is possible whilst unlicensed a Claim for Repossession may not be allowed by a Court.

Another Property Expert today advised that Three Leading Letting Agencies were snapped up by another Agency and Investment Fund for a Nine Figure Sum.

This shows the confidence in the continuing strength of the Private Rental Sector and its financial opportunities still.
